I’m 16 now, and I am being surrounded by today’s science and how they continuingly try to dismiss God. I am now having a hard time believing in God and question his existance. It’s really hard for me because I grow up in a very big Christian family, so I am very torn apart. Not to mention most of my friends are Atheists or part of another religion. I just dunno what to believe.

Well, john. Let me just say to me brother in God that this is a trial everyone faces one way or another. It is to help strengthen your love to our Holy Father. I go through it frequently enough, and, though just barely, I manage to keep on the right side. I have discussed many times about this, and I mention this, too. I can’t force you to believe in God. Just to point you to Him. To what I read, you are trying to believe in God, but Satan, (or todays science or let-downs) is having an advantage on you. What I can tell you is that, if you are able to hang on to God, you can acheive anything. Science may have you down, but not everything in science is correct. Ex: Bumblebees shouldn’t be able to fly with there body mass and wings size being incorrect, but they do. God had said in the bible that the birds don’t worry about clothing or food, for the God gives them warmth and food. Your friends are part of another religion, right? That proves they believe in a higher source and are trying to do what I am, encourage. Aetheist are people who just don’t want to bother with the ceremonies and such, so don’t let them get to you. Not to mention most teens your age are confused, too. If you need help with belief, try reading the bible. Any part of it, but preferably Matthews. It should help. What seems to work for me, a fourteen year old boy, is trying to hang on and talk to someone. Go to a christian youth group. They will be listening to you. Your family is strong in faith, so maybe they can help you. Ask for your family to get together whenever everyone is home and try to talk to them. The more there, the better the answer. Don’t hold back on trying to get help. They will listen. Trust me, family is always the next part of your life you want to turn to for help in a christian faith when friends fail you. I know. Are any of your friends christian? Add them to your grouping. I can only tell you what I know, and that is to talk to someone about it. Something that works for me but is tough to do is to pray to God for a miracle. And by the heart, not the mind. Trust me, He will come through and you will know it.
So recap:
Go to church or Youth for help from people who have been through what you are going through.
Get your family to gather, along with ANY and ALL christian friends to talk it out and get supportive answers.
Pray for a miracle that makes you feel undescribable and joyful that makes you turn to God.
Try these and let me know how it goes, ok? Hopefully, brother-in-God, it will be worth it. If you still struggle, I have more ways. But lets start small. May God Bless You in Your Struggle to Believe and be Free!

Well, John, as Tristan said all Christians sometimes struggle with their belief in God. I can’t say much that Tristan hasn’t already, but you have to remember God created this world. He created science, and though some might try to disprove his existence they can’t. Don’t let the negativity of their beliefs muddle with your own for you must stay strong. I also have atheist friends, or friends who just don’t believe in God the way I do. It can make it difficult at times, especially in the moments when you are at your weakest. These are just trials to test your faith, and make sure you stay strong. God can be questioned, but in the end he is the only answer.

As Rebecca has said, without God, things wouldn’t florish, including science. I haven’t seen any one scientist disprove Him. Isn’t it weird that they only say You can’t see Him…so He doesn’t exist”? Because they want people to see what they see, but can’t on the topic of God. He is real, but the belief in Him is up to you. We are family in God, but it only comes through when you believe.
