The title confuses you? Thats because it should. So I’ll explain it more thoroughly. Something that I have detected with a lot of my friends and family are their worries about the future and also being stuck in the past. I am going to explain to you how that affiliates with God, and also about what it is and how severe it truly can be to ones life. Lets look at what each are.
People living in the past are grasping to events that have occured, such as a death of a loved one or a terribe mistake in a relationship, or even job losses, and cant place themselves back with God because they are side-tracked by what has happened. This shows why it is such a bad sign, because irresponsible people or those in grief would blame God for what has happened, and may refuse to turn to Him. Or they could be so distracted by this that they turn their life away from God like a pre-schooler with a book to another pre-schooler. In most cases, like the examples given, they can be serious and can really affect their own lives. I understand that they have a right to be sad, i actually am for that because it shows how they are caught with reality and know what has happened, but staying upset for too long could negatively affect them to sometimes drastic, and even fatal, levels. You can often tell that they are still stuck in the past when they are always depressed and saddened, maybe drooping, and always slow at work or pace. Amongst other signs, you need to help these people, regardless of who they are, by detecting these signs and seeing whats up witht them. It may sound rude, and a lot of you might be asking yourselves, “Dude. Why whould I bother a total stranger or even my own enemy for their problems?” But remember this. We are all family in God, therefor we need to be able to help our brothers and sisters when they need it, even when they are our enemies. It says in the bible that the Lord will supply a feast for us in front of our enemies. I have always thought that that was to show that to us that our enemies too are our family. You need to help those who need it, for some day they shall return the favor when you need it.
People stuck in the future are worried that something is gonna happen to them or others. A common example these days would be 2012, or as the Mayan Calendar predicts, Armegeddon. (Look out for the page The Revelation Layed Out for my opinion on these matters) These signs would include fidgitting, easy-to-scare attitude, nervousness or aggressiveness. Amongst other signs, it is just as vital to snap them out of it like people worried with the past. People who worry about the past might not even want to face it and make sure they dont, suicide, restraint, or otherwise. The fabric of our futures is as stable as wind. The wind is always shifting, and changing paths, and moving freely. Like our futures. Our futures are never the same each second. Our futures are always changing, and different events are bound to come with every step we make. Our futures are also affected by what others do. Our futures never are the same. So why live in the future, when really the possibility of living through tonight is a chance as well. Jeremiah 28:11 i believe says that I will give you thoughts of peace, and not evil. I will give you a future and a hope. Do not worry about our futures if you believe in Gods ways.
Who knows of the Disney Pixars movie Kun-Fu Panda? How about the master turtle Master Oogway? His advice to Po was Yestarday’s history, Tomorrows a Mystery, and todays a gift. Thats why they call it the present. How about Nickelbacks song If Today Was Your Last Day? The first verse was Each Days A GIft And Not A Given Right!
