The seven deadly sins are important to know so you can prevent them from happening to you.They are:
1.Greed
Greed is a big one because it can make us a theif and cause trauma among friends and family. Greed is among one of the most punishing in the world, for all laws tell of us not to steal, as well as in the Ten Commandments. Around Abu-Dhabi in Arabia, stealing anything can get your hand cut off. But commiting it is more dangerous to do than living one handed to God.
2.Lust
This is a big one for teenage boys that I know. Lust is only loving someone for their looks. This is mostly a big one because that is not Gods intentions in friendship and Marriage. God want’s us to be with the people we ACTUALLY know. Going out and marrying someone for their looks could cost you your life. For what you know, he/she could be adorable and sweet, but they could really be a top-wanted criminal of the FBI. (Idea from ‘The Stepfather’) Get to know who you are willing to befriend or marry.
3. Gluttony
Gluttony is when you eat more than you need. A saying, ‘when you see a jar of honey, eat just enough. If you eat too much, you will get sick.’ This isn’t just for honey, either. Too much of Apples or bananas or meat could do the same! I know we all have our desires and cravings, but cravings and desires aren’t the same. If you crave something, you need more of the minerals and vitamins in it. If you desire something, you only want it. That is Lust! We just discussed that!
4.Envy
Envy is tied to greed. Envy is when you desire another’s skill, trait, status, or situation. I can tell you that, in doing so, you are denying that God has made you perfect to Him. If this is so, read the prayer of Jabez pages I typed in. In commiting envy, you call yourself lesser to someone other than our Father. That wouldn’t be a good thing to do, now would it?
5.Anger
Anger is something we can’t stop from happening, but can stop from hurting someone. Say someone calls you a name or insults your family, you want to hurt them dead on, right? Well, the only way to truly stop rage is to ignore it. Now the guy makes chicken noises, and everyone is joing in. Think carefully, who is the real chicken? You for walking away from juvy/jail, or the fool making the noises and flapping his wings? If you ask me, the fool may be making fun of you as such, but Satan is roasting them like a dead chicken. You attack them, and you saved the guy and are being roasted yourself.
6.Pride
Ok, a little bit of pride never hurts anyone, but it is the people who brag for days on a skill he thinks only he has, but everyone has. Pride keeps you going, but too much can make it impossible to stop and run into Satan. If you go around as a star and say stuff like ‘Oh, Look at me! Im better than you,” then you are bragging for Satan. Not good.
7. Sloth
Sloth is a big one almost everyone commits. It is denying and disbelieving in spiritual manner. God, Muhammad, Buddah, anyone or thing. Magic, Illusions, Psychic ablilites are all things that God granted some people to help others believe in Him. Commiting Sloth is, by my opinion, the worst sin.
The seven dealdy sins all make up Satan’s personality. DONT INHERIT IT!!!
